What is the refuelling policy for SANI Car Rental?
All vehicles rented from SANI Car Rental are refuelled to the full tank as a courtesy for the next renter. Fuel consumption is then billed back to the renter’s account. South Africa has regulated fuel pricing, so all refills are subject to government-mandated prices. If you prefer to refuel your vehicle prior to returning it, you can do so and provide SANI Car Rental with a copy of your receipt. Alternatively, if SANI Car Rental is required to refuel your rental car upon return, an administrative fee of 10% excluding VAT will be applied.
What payment methods do you use at SANI Car Rental?
When renting a vehicle from SANI Car Rental, customers can choose to pay with any major credit card, hybrid cheque card or debit card. The applicable security deposit at collection may vary depending on the payment method used. SANI Car Rental will make every effort to provide an accurate estimate of this amount at time of booking, however they cannot be held liable for any discrepancy between the estimated and actual payment type prior to collection.
What will I need when collecting my rental car at the George Airport pick-up point?
- All South African renters must possess a valid driver’s licence, and international customers must have an English International Licence. An Identity Document (I.D) or passport should also be presented upon collection.
- Renters are required to provide a credit card, cheque or debit card upon collection. The cardholder needs to be present in order for the rental process to be completed.
- The minimum age for renters is 21 years old, and they must have had a valid licence for at least 1 year. If a renter is younger than 21 and has held their licence for at least 2 years, a young driver surcharge will apply.
- Finally, note that if you are crossing borders there is a vetting process required when collecting the vehicle.

Cancelling more than 24 hours in advance of your collection date and time will not lead to any fees. Cancellation within 24 hours of your collection date and time will incur a cancellation fee of R300. Failure to cancel your reservation at all will result in a “no show” penalty equal to one day’s rental charge.
